Materials
Concrete to be designated GEN3 to BS 8500-2, minimum cement content 240 kg/m³, maximum water-cement ratio 0.60. Aggregate to 20 mm nominal maximum size unless the drawing states otherwise.
Placing
Place in layers not exceeding 300 mm and compact each layer before the previous one has taken initial set. Do not place against frozen ground or where the ambient temperature is below 3 °C and falling.
Tolerance
Top surface to be level within ±10 mm over any 3 m straightedge. Where fill supports a structural element the tolerance reduces to ±5 mm.
Ground investigation of 11 May
Following the additional boreholes, the fill depth in grid F increases by 300 mm across 41 m³. This clause supersedes the depth given on KD2-S-101 Rev C and is reflected in Rev D.
