We have asked twelve artists to make work about this building — its paint, its plumbing, its bad acoustics, the room nobody uses. Nothing has been made yet. Everything depends on this appeal.

A commission at this scale costs about eighteen thousand pounds: the artist's fee, materials, fabrication, install, and the technician's time. We are asking twelve times.
