Pulmonary rehabilitation

Is it for me?

If breathing problems limit what you can do day to day, yes. You do not need a specific diagnosis and you do not need to be able to exercise already.

What actually happens?

Two sessions a week for six weeks, in a group of about ten. Half is gentle exercise at your own pace, half is sitting down and learning what to do when it gets worse.

How long is the wait?

About ten weeks at the moment. We will write to you when a place comes up, and you can say no to that date without going back to the end of the list.

From referral to first session

  1. Your GP refers you. Nothing for you to do. You will get a text confirming it within a week.
  2. We call you. A short call to check the timing works and whether you need transport.
  3. Assessment. One appointment, about an hour, to see where you are starting from.
  4. First session. Bring nothing. Wear whatever you can move in.
